Jessica Lucas
For over a decade, Jessica has been teaching Pilates in and around Metro Atlanta.
Pilates has always been a fundamental part of Jessica’s active lifestyle. She began practicing Pilates initially as a compliment to her dance training and conventional fitness program. In 2001, she completed the year-long teacher training and apprenticeship program with Katy Roelle of ReFormation Pilates. Jessica believes once a student, always a student and is committed to keeping her knowledge fresh and up-to-date with continuing education workshops & seminars, such as Pilates & Pregnancy.
She continues to take classes and lessons wherever her travels take her, such as The Ellie Herman Studio in Oakland, CA, studios throughout Los Angeles and her home state of Hawaii.
With a BS Ed in SportsMedicine and years of working in physical therapy clinics, including orthopedic and spinal cord injury rehab settings, Jessica brings a keen eye for body and bio mechanics to her classes and clients. Her teaching style is a creative balance of the Classical Method combined with a contemporary, pragmatic approach to fitness and wellness.
Jessica is thrilled to launch Pilates for a Purpose, an 8 week Mat & Apparatus program for Breast Cancer Survivors, as well as those SURVIVING & THRIVING (like herself), to address & focus on increasing fitness and function that is often lost or compromised as the result of BC treatment. This program is a very personal & passionate endeavor for Jessica and she looks forward to sharing all the great benefits of Pilates, including improved physical fitness in a nurturing, supportive, FUN environment. jessica@intownpilatesatlanta.com
